4 Days on Rails
Rails is well documented on-line; in fact, possibly too well documented for beginners, with over 30,000 words of on-line documentation in the format of a reference manual. What’s missing is a roadmap (railmap?) pointing to the key pages that you need to know to get up and running in Rails development.

yeah, dude…bd designers suck…(but not those from http://www.somewherein.net ). I use NVU, a gecko based web-editor that has internal stylesheet maker. Like look at the website of bangladesh’s prmier engineering and technology related site (that of BUET)…it sucks so much that I wonder why it sucks so much…its like they have never heard of any other web-tools outside of Hyper Text Markup and MS Frontpage crap….no css,no Java-script/flash/ajax/php/asp/python or anything else.
anyway, thanks for the comment.I have a wordpress.com account too..but due to lack of customization options, i ditched it.

[...] Ruby on Rails is another buzz technology that got a lot of attention lately. Built-In Ajax support, rapid development and mfc (model-view-controller) paradigm help to simply the development of web-applications to a great degree. The differences between the Ruby development model and other development models, like for example php, are vast, and thus it’s usefull to have a bunch of ressource which make the entry or transition easier. On Edevil’s weblog one can find a nice collection of usefull Ruby on Rails ressources, including several Mac related links. [...]

Thanks for a link to my Quick Ruby blog. Ruby has started to catch on in Pune, India and I see a lot of interest in Ruby amongst Java programmers. With Bruce Tate and other Java Gurus moving to Ruby, does it sound the down-turn for Java?
November 18, 2005 at 4:51 pm
Absolutely. Ruby along with the Rails framework is perfect for developing business solutions and it beats Java and .NET in terms of flexibility and ease of use. Its also easier to learn.
Keep up the good work on your QuickRuby blog

So, I have read the spattering of comments, but no-one has really given a comparison between RoR vs AJAX.
Being a newbie to web development and seeing I have a delimma of selecting a tool to use, I’d like to see or hear what your pro’s/con’s are on the two.
July 13, 2006 at 7:17 pm
Hi Stacy. RoR is an application development framework for the Ruby programming language, whereas AJAX is a web development technique involving Javascript and XML.
AJAX can be incorporated into any web application, regardless of the serverside language. You can even add AJAX to plain HTML files!
Google those terms and do some reading to make the concept clear.

[...] Posted by Andy Mon, 23 Oct 2006 23:04:08 GMT I’ve been trying to learn a few things about this whole Ruby on Rails shebang that has been all the rage with those internet kids. It’s a good system and has a lot of power and shortcuts for a developer. There a about a million articles telling how great a lot of this stuff is, and for the most part they are right. [...]
